Applied Mechanics department has a distinguished and technically well-versed faculty imbued with a sense of commitment and sincerity. We are a department of 06 faculty members, 02 of these holding Doctorates, 02 of these are pursuing Doctorate of Philosophy and the rest have a Master’s Degree.
Government Engineering College, Dahod was established in June 2004. It falls directly under Commissionerate of Technical Education, Education Department - Government of Gujarat. Government Engineering College Dahod is approved by AICTE and affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU). The total built up area of college is 17 acres which also includes hostel facilities. The college campus has four academic blocks, a workshop block, a library block and an amenities block that houses canteen, sports corner and girls common room. GEC Dahod started with the intake of 60 students each for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering program. Now current intake for Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical Engineering is 30 students for each program. The intake is 60 students for Computer Engineering program. The intake is 90 students for Mechanical Engineering programs. The institute also run Post Graduate programs affiliated to GTU each with intake of 18 students each for CIVIL (STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING) and MECHANICAL ENGINEERING (CAD/CAM).
