About Library

The Central Library of the Government Engineering College Dahod is the hub for information services in the institute, gathering place for the faculties & students of diversified technological areas and also serves as a major learning and resource centre. It is a creative and innovative partner in supporting the teaching, learning, scholarship and research activities of the institute. With the fast-growing collection, both in digital and print forms using the state-of-the-art facilities, the Central library of the institute is contributing exponentially to provide a world class academic environment with the institute.
It is located in a separate building having beautiful landscape of lush green plants within the campus which gives a pleasant ambience to the readers. Well-furnished and illuminated location creates an atmosphere of serenity that motivates the readers to have effective learning and research activities.
The collection in the library encompasses 15084 books of 4259 titles varying in subjects like Engineering, Basic Science & Humanities and also includes reference books, number of CDs/DVDs and subscribed to 55 print journals and magazines in print and other e-resources. Major e-resources such as ASME and ASCE which are accessible to the faculties and students’ community from anywhere in the campus.
The Central Library of the Government Engineering College Dahod totally working on da digital platform with the help of SOUL3.0 library information software purchased from Inflibnet Centre, Gandhinagar. Earlier, this software was purchased in the version of SOUL 1.0. Late on, the version has been upgraded with SOUL2.0. Now, the library has its latest upgrade version of SOUL3.0.

Resources

The Central Library of the Government Engineering College Dahod has some of the resources for the members of the library for their technical upgradation. This library is developed keeping mind for both undergraduate and postgraduate students of the institute. General Rules


1. Unauthorized persons are not allowed inside the library
2. Students’ entry permitted only with college / library identity card.
3. All the persons have to maintain discipline and silence inside the library.
4. Library books will be issued only to the library members (students or staff).
5. The membership cards must be renewed periodically/beginning of new semester.
6. Books will be issued as per the allotted library tickets only.
7. At the end of the course (BE/ME), students have to return the library tickets failing to which fine will be imposed.
8. For the loss of library ticket/non-return of library ticket, penalty of Rs. 150/- per ticket will be levied.
9. The issue of new/duplicate library ticket will be charged Rs. 150/- per ticket.
10. The library books are issued only for the reading purpose. The teared book will not be accepted and the students will be penalized for the same.
11. The library book is issued for a period of 15 days only. It should be return within 15 days.
12. The fine of Rs. 0.50 per day per book will be levied for late return of library book.
13. At the end of the semester, all students of the institute have to return the issued books to the library.
14. Journal/Magazine will be issued to read only inside the library on the deposit of library/college I-card.
15. The library NOC will be issued only on the submission of all the issued books, library tickets and other issued library items.
16. All the students have to cooperate the available staff during issue/return of library books and other items.
17. Non-following of library rules, the library membership of the student will be cancelled.
